The 3 Things I’m Most Grateful for Right Now
Gratitude feels different when you’ve lived a little.
It’s not loud.
It’s not flashy.
It’s not about having everything figured out.
It’s quieter than that.
Lately, I’ve been asking myself what truly matters — not what looks impressive, not what sounds successful — but what I would hold onto if everything else shifted.
And there are three things I keep coming back to.
First, my daughter.
There is nothing in this world that humbles me and strengthens me at the same time the way being her mother does. Watching her grow, step into her own life, and chase her future reminds me that time is sacred. She is proof that even on the days I doubted myself, I was still building something beautiful.
Second, where I am in life right now.
Not because everything is perfect.
Not because I’ve “arrived.”
But because I’ve survived seasons I once thought would break me.
There were moments I felt behind.
Moments I questioned everything.
Moments I wondered if I had missed my window.
But I didn’t.
I’m here.
And there is peace in that.
And third — maybe the most personal one — my desire to follow God even when it’s hard.
I don’t always get it right.
I don’t always feel strong.
But I show up.
Even when obedience is uncomfortable.
Even when growth stretches me.
Even when silence feels confusing.
I still show up.
And I’m deeply grateful for that desire inside me — because I know it didn’t come from me alone.
God’s patience with me has been steady.
Gentle.
Faithful.
He has never rushed me the way I rush myself.
He has never spoken to me the way my doubts sometimes do.
And that patience has changed me.
Gratitude isn’t always about what you have.
Sometimes it’s about who you’re becoming.
And right now, I’m grateful for the woman I’m growing into.
God,
Thank You for the gifts that matter most — for my daughter, for this present season, and for the desire You placed in my heart to keep following You.
Thank You for Your patience when I doubt, when I rush, when I question.
Teach me to see my life the way You see it — steady, purposeful, and held.
Help me never lose the hunger to seek You, even when it’s hard.
Amen.
