Today’s Scripture + Journal + Reflection

Verse of the Day

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.” — Psalm 37:5

We love the part that says, “He will act.”

But sometimes we rush past the first part — commit your way.

To commit means to place something fully into someone else’s hands.

Not halfway.
Not conditionally.
Not with backup plans we secretly trust more.

Just fully.

Your plans.
Your fears.
Your timeline.
Your relationships.
Your calling.

Commit your way.

Trust Him.

And then — let Him move.

Faith isn’t forcing outcomes.
It’s placing your life in God’s hands and releasing control one layer at a time.

What area of your life are you trying to control instead of committing to God?

Be specific.
Is it finances?
A relationship?
Your business?
Motherhood?
Your timeline?

Write it down.

Then write:
“Lord, I commit this to You.”

Take one small step of surrender.

It might look like:

• Not overchecking something
• Not sending that extra text
• Not obsessively planning
• Praying before reacting
• Letting something rest

Small surrender builds deep trust.

Lord,

You see the areas I hold tightly.

Teach me to commit my way to You fully — not just in words, but in trust.

Help me release control and rest in the truth that You are already working.

Give me courage to surrender what feels uncertain.

I choose to trust You today.

Amen.
