Friday Faith + Song: I Know a Name

Fridays are my favorite time to pause, breathe, and reset before the weekend begins. Life can feel heavy sometimes — work stress, responsibilities, the constant noise of the world. But then a song comes along that reminds us of something powerful.

This week’s Friday inspiration song is “I Know a Name” by Brandon Lake and CeCe Winans.

The first time I heard it, it stopped me for a moment. Not because it’s just a beautiful song, but because of the truth behind it. When life feels overwhelming, when fear tries to creep in, when we feel like we’re fighting battles we can’t win… we remember something important:

We know a name.

The name of Jesus.

And that name carries power, peace, healing, and hope.

Some lyrics in this song hit deep:

“There’s power in the name of Jesus.”

“I know a name that can silence the roaring waves.”

“I know a name that can empty the grave.”

Just reading those words reminds me that no matter what we’re walking through, we’re not walking through it alone.

Sometimes the enemy wants us to believe that our problems are bigger than our faith. But this song flips that thinking around. It reminds us that the name of Jesus is bigger than fear, bigger than anxiety, bigger than doubt, and bigger than anything we’re facing.

And honestly, that’s the kind of reminder I need going into the weekend.

So today, maybe turn the music up a little louder. Let this song play while you’re driving, cleaning the house, or sitting quietly with a cup of coffee. Let the words remind your heart of the truth.

You know a name.

And that name changes everything.

Have a beautiful Friday, friends. Let’s carry this reminder with us into the weekend: we don’t face life alone.

If this encouragement spoke to your heart today, I’d love for you to keep reading and growing with me.
