Grace for Yourself in This Season You Don’t Have to Carry Everything Perfectly
Grace for Yourself in This Season You Don’t Have to Carry Everything Perfectly
There are seasons in life where healing feels slow.
Where you are rebuilding pieces of yourself while still grieving old versions of you.
Where you love God, but if you are honest… you feel distant.
Maybe prayer feels harder lately. Maybe your heart feels tired. Maybe you are trying to heal while still carrying responsibilities, expectations, memories, disappointments, and the quiet question of, “God, where are You in all of this?”
If that is you today, I just want to remind you of something:
You need grace too.
Not just grace for everyone else.
Not just patience for everyone else.
Not just understanding for everyone else.
You.
Sometimes we are so quick to extend compassion to others while becoming our own harshest critic.
We tell ourselves healing should be faster.
We think rebuilding should look prettier.
We believe distance means failure.
But what if this season is not proof that you are failing?
What if this season is where God is gently rebuilding what was broken?
Psalm 34:18 says:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Close.
Not distant.
Close.
Even when you do not feel it.
Even when worship feels quiet.
Even when your prayers feel unfinished.
Even when your faith feels smaller than it used to.
Healing is not linear.
Some days you will feel strong.
Some days you will feel like you are starting over.
Some days you will laugh again.
Some days you will miss who you used to be.
That does not mean you are moving backward.
It means you are human.
And rebuilding with God often looks less like instant transformation and more like daily surrender.
Small prayers.
Tiny steps.
Choosing hope again.
Opening your Bible even when your heart feels quiet.
Showing up anyway.
Maybe grace for yourself in this season looks like:
Resting without guilt.
Not rushing your healing.
Letting God meet you exactly where you are.
Speaking kindly to yourself.
Allowing yourself to begin again.
Because maybe God is not asking you to have it all together.
Maybe He is simply asking you to keep walking with Him.
Even slowly.
Even softly.
Even here.
So if you have been feeling distant lately…
You are not forgotten.
If you are rebuilding…
You are not behind.
If you are healing…
You are not weak.
God still sees you.
God still loves you.
And this season still matters.
Grace for Yourself in This Season You Don’t Have to Carry Everything Perfectly
Lord,
Please give us grace for ourselves in this season.
For the parts still healing. For the pieces still rebuilding.
For the moments we feel distant and do not know why.
Meet us here.
Help us remember that Your presence is not dependent on our feelings.
Teach us to rest.
Teach us to trust.
And help us believe that healing is still holy work.
Amen.
