Letting God Into the Parts We Hide 🤍
Letting God Into the Parts We Hide
There are parts of us we show the world.
The smiling parts.
The “I’m okay” parts.
The parts that know how to keep moving even when we feel lost.
And then there are the hidden parts.
The questions.
The confusion.
The struggles.
The things we barely understand ourselves.
I think one of the hardest things I have been walking through is figuring out who I am.
Not just who people think I am.
Not who I used to be.
Not who the world says I should become.
But who I really am.
Because if I am honest… there have been seasons where I have felt lost.
Lost in this world.
Lost in my own thoughts.
Lost trying to understand myself.
And sometimes the hardest battle has not been with other people.
It has been inside me.
The battle between flesh and spirit.
Wanting God… but still fighting myself.
Wanting peace… but feeling pulled.
Wanting closeness with Him… while still wrestling with old habits, old mindsets, old versions of me.
Paul wrote something that made me stop the first time I truly understood it:
“For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.”
— Romans 7:19
Paul struggled too.
That realization changed something for me.
Because sometimes we think being a Christian means never struggling.
Never questioning.
Never wrestling.
But scripture shows us people who wrestled with God, with themselves, with faith.
David.
Peter.
Paul.
The woman at the well.
People who had hidden places.
And God still met them there.
Psalm 139 says:
“You have searched me, Lord, and You know me.”
— Psalm 139:1
God already knows.
The confusion.
The fears.
The parts you hide from people.
The version of you that feels lost.
The parts you are embarrassed by.
The parts you do not understand.
He sees all of it.
And He stays.
Maybe that is what I am learning right now.
Healing is not pretending those places do not exist.
It is opening the door and saying:
God… come into this room too.
The room with confusion.
The room with shame.
The room with questions.
The room where I still fight my flesh.
The room where I do not understand myself.
The room I hoped nobody would see.
Because maybe that is where transformation begins.
Not in the parts we proudly show God.
But in the parts we almost kept hidden.
The woman at the well tried hiding.
Yet Jesus sat with her.
Peter denied Him.
Yet Jesus restored him.
David failed.
Yet God still called him a man after His own heart.
What if God is not waiting for your perfection?
What if He is waiting for your honesty?
Because maybe freedom starts there.
What room have you kept closed from God? What would happen if you invited Him in today? Letting God Into the Parts We Hide
