When You Don't Know What's Next God Does

There have been so many moments in my life where I've asked God, "What now?"

Maybe you've asked that too.

You're waiting for an answer.
Waiting for a door to open.
Waiting for healing.
Waiting for direction.
Waiting for something—anything—to make sense.

And if I'm being honest, that's one of the hardest places to be.

We naturally want to know what's coming next. We want a plan. We want certainty. We want God to hand us the entire roadmap before we take the first step.

When You Don't Know What's Next God Does

But that's not how faith works.

Faith is trusting God even when you can't see where He's leading.

One thing I've learned is that just because I don't know what's next doesn't mean God doesn't.

Nothing catches Him by surprise.

He already knows the conversations you'll have next month.
He already knows the opportunities you'll receive.
He already knows the prayers He's going to answer.
He already knows the people He's removing and the people He's bringing into your life.

He's already there.

Sometimes we become so focused on figuring everything out that we forget who is actually in control.

The future has never belonged to us.

It has always belonged to God.

That thought brings me so much peace because if I were in charge of my own life, I would probably make decisions based on fear, emotions, or impatience. God sees what I can't. He sees the outcome before the journey even begins.

There have been seasons where I thought God was silent, but later I realized He was protecting me.

There were closed doors I cried over that eventually became reasons to thank Him.

There were delays that felt frustrating in the moment but ended up being exactly what I needed.

God wasn't ignoring me.

He was preparing me.

If you're in a season where you don't know what's next, don't let uncertainty steal your peace.

Keep praying.

Keep trusting.

Keep showing up.

Keep taking the next faithful step, even if it's a small one.

You don't need to have your entire life figured out today.

You only need enough faith for today.

Jesus reminds us not to worry about tomorrow because tomorrow will worry about itself. God promises to give us what we need for each day, not every answer for our entire future all at once.

Maybe that's because if He showed us everything ahead, we might rely on the plan instead of relying on Him.

Faith grows in the unknown.

Trust is built in the waiting.

And peace is found when we surrender control.

So if you're wondering what comes next…

Take a deep breath.

God already knows.

The same God who has carried you through every difficult season before this one is already standing in your tomorrow.

Nothing about your future surprises Him.

He is already making a way—even if you can't see it yet.

So today, choose faith over fear.

Trust over worry.

Peace over panic.

Because while you may not know what's next...

God always does.
