We did it! We finished the book of Exodus! 🥹💕
What a beautiful journey this has been. From watching God deliver the Israelites out of Egypt to seeing His glory fill the Tabernacle, we have learned so much about His faithfulness, patience, instructions, and presence.
I am so proud of us for continuing this journey together, one chapter at a time.
Today, we're closing Exodus with an incredible reminder: God doesn't just want us to build a life for Him. He wants to be present in the life we're building.
Let's get into Exodus 40!
Summary
Exodus 40 is the final chapter of Exodus, and it marks a beautiful moment in the Israelites' journey.
After months of preparation, instructions, and hard work, the Tabernacle is finally ready to be assembled.
God tells Moses to set up the Tabernacle on the first day of the first month of the second year.
Moses follows God's instructions carefully.
He places everything exactly where God commanded:
The Ark of the Covenant
The table for the bread
The golden lampstand
The altar of incense
The altar of burnt offering
The basin for washing
The courtyard curtains
Moses also anoints the Tabernacle and its furnishings, setting them apart as holy. Aaron and his sons are washed, dressed, and prepared for their priestly responsibilities.
Throughout this chapter, we repeatedly see that Moses did everything just as the Lord commanded.
Once Moses finishes the work, something extraordinary happens.
The cloud covers the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord fills the Tabernacle.
God's presence is so powerful that Moses cannot enter the tent.
From that moment forward, God's presence guides the Israelites throughout their travels.
When the cloud lifts, they move forward.
When the cloud stays, they remain where they are.
During the day, God's cloud rests over the Tabernacle. At night, fire is visible in the cloud.
The book of Exodus ends not with the Israelites reaching the Promised Land, but with something even more meaningful.
God is dwelling among His people.
Observations
1. Obedience prepares us for what God has planned.
2. God's presence is greater than anything we could accomplish.
3. God's timing determines when we move and when we wait.
Life Application
Exodus 40 reminds us that our lives should be centered around God's presence.
Think about your current season.
Are you building something new?
Are you waiting for an answer?
Are you praying for direction?
Are you trying to figure out your next step?
Maybe you're working toward a dream, growing in your faith, rebuilding your life, or simply trying to make it through another day.
Whatever season you're in, remember this:
You don't have to figure everything out before inviting God into it.
Invite Him into your mornings.
Invite Him into your decisions.
Invite Him into your finances.
Invite Him into your relationships.
Invite Him into your plans.
And when you're unsure about what comes next, remember how God guided the Israelites.
His presence was with them through their journey.
We can trust that He is faithful to lead us as well.
Sometimes faith looks like taking a step forward.
Other times, faith looks like remaining still and trusting God's timing.
Both require obedience.
And both can bring us closer to Him.
Questions
1. Am I inviting God into every part of my life?
2. Am I following God's instructions or trying to do things my own way?
3. Am I willing to wait when God hasn't told me to move?
📖 Memory Verse — Exodus 40:34 (NIV)
"Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle."
Today's Encouragement
I want to remind you of something today.
Look how far you've come.
Maybe you're not where you want to be yet.
Maybe you're still waiting for prayers to be answered.
Maybe you're still learning how to trust God.
But look at the progress you've made.
Every time you open your Bible, you're making room to learn more about Him.
Every time you pray, you're strengthening your relationship with Him.
Every time you choose obedience over your own desires, you're growing.
And every time you come back to God after getting distracted or discouraged, you're choosing to keep going.
We have now completed Genesis and Exodus together!
That's 90 chapters of God's Word! 🥹
And I hope you're beginning to see something beautiful.
From Genesis through Exodus, we have witnessed God's faithfulness again and again.
He keeps His promises.
He hears His people.
He provides.
He forgives.
He guides.
And He never stops being God.
We're not just reading through the Bible. We're growing in our relationship with the One who wrote the story.
Keep going. God is not finished teaching us yet. 💕
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for bringing us to the end of Exodus.
Thank You for every lesson, every reminder, and every opportunity to grow closer to You through Your Word.
Lord, just as Your glory filled the Tabernacle, I pray that Your presence would be evident in every area of my life.
Help me to recognize that nothing I build, accomplish, or receive could ever be more valuable than my relationship with You.
Teach me to obey Your instructions, even when I don't understand every detail.
Give me patience when You're asking me to wait.
Give me courage when You're calling me to move.
And give me wisdom to recognize the difference.
Father, forgive me for the times I've rushed ahead without seeking You first.
Forgive me for the moments I've become more focused on my plans than on Your purpose.
Help me to surrender my timeline, my worries, my dreams, and my future into Your hands.
Thank You for walking beside me through every season.
Thank You for never giving up on me.
And thank You for everyone who has joined this journey of reading through Your Word.
May we continue growing in faith, understanding, obedience, and love.
As we prepare to begin Leviticus, open our hearts and minds to everything You want to teach us.
In Jesus' name,
Amen. 🦋

If you don't have a Bible, please reach out to me.
I would love to purchase one for you.
I truly believe everyone deserves the opportunity to have their own Bible, open God's Word, and build a personal relationship with Him.
🦋 What's Next? We're Starting Leviticus!
Goodbye, Exodus! Hello, Leviticus!!
I cannot believe we've already completed 2 books of the Bible together.
Genesis taught us about creation, beginnings, God's promises, and His faithfulness.
Exodus showed us God's power, deliverance, patience, holiness, and desire to dwell among His people.
Now, as we enter Leviticus, we're going to learn more about holiness, worship, sacrifice, and what it means to live as people set apart for God.
Some chapters may be challenging to understand, but that's why we're doing this together.
One chapter at a time.
No rushing.
No pressure.
Just growing in faith and learning God's Word together.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
I'm so proud of us! 💕📖
