Genesis Chapter 1 opens with the powerful declaration thatGod created the heavens and the earth. The earth began as formless and empty, but through His spoken word, God brought order out of chaos. Over six days, He created light, the sky, land, seas, plants, the sun, moon, stars, sea creatures, birds, animals, and finally mankind in His own image.
At the end of each day, God declared His creation good. After creating humanity, He looked over everything He had made and declared it“very good.”Genesis 1 reminds us that creation was intentional, orderly, and reflects God’s wisdom, power, and love.
