Genesis Chapter 25

Summary

Genesis 25 marks the transition from Abraham’s life to the next generation. Abraham marries Keturah, has additional children, and dies at the age of 175. Isaac becomes the heir of God’s covenant. The chapter then introduces the family of Ishmael before shifting focus to Isaac and Rebekah, who struggle with infertility until God answers Isaac’s prayer. Rebekah gives birth to twin sons, Esau and Jacob, and God reveals that the older son will serve the younger. Encouragement

Waiting does not mean God has forgotten you. Isaac and Rebekah waited years before seeing God’s promise fulfilled. While you wait, God is working behind the scenes. Don’t settle for temporary solutions like Esau did. Hold tightly to what God has promised, because His blessings are always worth the wait.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for always keeping Your promises. Help me trust Your timing even when I cannot see what You’re doing. Give me patience while I wait and wisdom to value the blessings You have placed in my life. Protect me from making impulsive decisions that pull me away from Your purpose. Help me seek what is eternal instead of what only satisfies for a moment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
