Does God Ever Get Tired of Me?
There are moments when I’ve quietly asked God a question I never thought I would say out loud.
“Do You ever get tired of me?”
Tired of my prayers.
Tired of my tears.
Tired of my fears.
Tired of my doubts.
Tired of me coming back again and again with the same struggles.
Sometimes I feel like I should be stronger by now.
More healed by now.
More confident by now.
More mature in my faith by now.
And when I fall short, I wonder…
Is God disappointed in me?
Is He frustrated with me?
Is He growing weary of my process?
But the truth God keeps teaching me is this:
God is not like people.
People get tired of us.
People run out of patience.
People keep score.
People walk away when growth feels slow.
God does not.
Scripture says His mercy is new every morning.
Not new when we earn it.
Not new when we get it right.
New every morning.
That means when I wake up still healing, still growing, still wrestling, still learning… His grace is still there.
Waiting.
Covering.
Patient.
God is not shocked by our humanity.
He’s not surprised by our weakness.
He’s not rolling His eyes when we come back again.
He’s a Father.
A patient Father.
A compassionate Father.
A faithful Father.
When I picture God now, I no longer see disappointment.
I see arms open.
I see understanding.
I see grace.
I see someone who knows my heart even when I don’t know how to explain it.
Growth takes time.
Healing takes time.
Faith deepens over time.
God isn’t asking for perfection.
He’s asking for relationship.
He’s not tired of you.
He’s not tired of your process.
He’s not tired of your prayers.
He’s not tired of your tears.
He’s not tired of your becoming.
If anything… He’s proud of you for still showing up.
Still praying.
Still believing.
Still trying.
Still trusting.
Still here.
And maybe today, the truth your heart needs most is this:
God doesn’t get tired of you.
He walks with you.
Lord,
Forgive us for believing the lie that we are too much for You.
Heal the places in our hearts that feel unworthy of Your patience.
Remind us that Your grace does not run out and Your mercy does not expire.
Teach us to rest in Your love instead of striving for perfection.
Thank You for never giving up on us, even when we feel weary of ourselves.
Amen.
Have you ever felt like you were “too much” for God?
