Exodus 38 — Faithful With What God Gives Us

Exodus 38 — Faithful With What God Gives Us

Summary

Exodus 38 continues the work of building the tabernacle.

Bezalel made the bronze altar, the bronze basin, and the courtyard surrounding the tabernacle. Everything was made according to the instructions God had already given Moses.

The chapter also gives an account of the gold, silver, and bronze that were donated and used for the tabernacle.

At first, Exodus 38 can feel like a chapter filled with measurements, materials, and building details, but there is a deeper message here.

God’s people were following through.

They were taking what God had provided, using their gifts, and faithfully doing the work He had asked them to do.

This chapter reminds us that obedience is not always loud or exciting.

Sometimes obedience looks like showing up, doing the work, handling what God gives us responsibly, and remaining faithful in the details.

 Observations

1. God Cares About the Details

2. Use What God Has Placed in Your Hands

3. Integrity Matters

Life Application

Exodus 38 is a reminder that faithfulness matters even when no one is watching.

Maybe God has asked you to keep showing up in a season that feels slow.

Maybe He has given you an idea that you keep putting off.

Maybe He wants you to become more responsible with your finances.

Maybe He is asking you to serve someone quietly.

Maybe He wants you to use a gift you have been afraid to use.

Not every assignment from God will feel big.

Sometimes He simply asks us to be faithful with what is already in front of us.

You do not have to have everything figured out.

You do not need more before you can start.

Ask yourself:

What has God already placed in my hands that I can use for Him today?

 Questions

  1. What is one area of my life where God is asking me to be more faithful?
  2. Am I using the gifts and resources God has already given me?
  3. Is there an area of my life where I need to practice more honesty, responsibility, or accountability?

Memory Verse

Exodus 38:21 NIV

“This is the amount of the materials used for the tabernacle…”

Encouragement

Do not underestimate the small things you are doing in obedience to God.

The prayers nobody hears matter.

The quiet acts of kindness matter.

The decision to keep showing up matters.

The work you do behind the scenes matters.

The things you do with a sincere heart matter.

You may not see what God is building through your obedience yet, but keep going.

You do not have to do everything.

You only have to be faithful with what He has given you.

God can do beautiful things through ordinary people who continue saying yes to Him.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for everything You have placed in my hands.

Help me to be faithful with my time, my gifts, my finances, my opportunities, and the responsibilities You have given me.

Teach me not to overlook the small things.

Help me understand that obedience matters even when no one else notices.

Show me where I need to become more responsible, more honest, and more faithful.

Give me wisdom to handle what You have given me well.

Help me stop comparing what I have to what someone else has.

Remind me that You can use what I already have when I surrender it to You.

May the way I live, serve, work, give, and love bring glory to You.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
